White Pines Golf Dome Flying Rules
  1. Registration and fee payment is required each night, prior the pilot's first flight. Season Pass holders must register each night.
  2. Current AMA card, or paid receipt, required IN HAND, at registration.
  3. AMA rules apply unless otherwise specified.
  4. Call out "Taking off", "Landing", and "On the Field" to warn other pilots of your intentions.
  5. Flying will begin at the whistle or other signal from the Dome Director.
  6. Normal flying begins at 11:00 PM, and ceases at 1:00 AM unless otherwise specified.
  7. Spectators are free. Spectators who fly any models in the Dome become pilots, and are required to register and pay the flying fee.
  8. Buddy Box and Student pilots require permission from the Dome Director.
  9. Frequency clip is required on every transmitter except 2.4 Ghz, before the transmitter is turned on.
  10. No smoking, alcohol, or controlled substances allowed in the Dome.
  11. Electric powered aircraft and helicopters only. No ground vehicles permitted. (Cars, trucks etc., R/C or otherwise)
  12. The Flight Line is defined by the edge of the shadow of the Upper Level Structure, and the projection of that shadow in the area beyond the upper level.
  13. All aircraft, fixed and rotary wing, must fly beyond the flight line only.
  14. Flight pattern for fixed wing aircraft is counter clockwise in a 'donut' beyond the flight line.
  15. 3D aerobatics and hovering of fixed wing models is limited to the left and right 'corner' of the flying area outside of the flight pattern 'donut' at a minimum distance of 10 feet from the pilot. 3D is also permitted inside the center of the flight pattern 'donut'.
  16. Fixed wing aircraft limits: two (2) pound weight limit, 150 watt power limit. Reasonable and prudent depending on conditions and traffic, at the discretion of the Dome Director. Other weights and power require the approval of the Dome Director.
  17. Combat, racing, or any special or unusual flight maneuvers must first be cleared by the Dome Director.
  18. Helicopter hovering and other flight aerobatics are limited to the left and right "corners" of the flying area. Helicopters are permitted to fly the entire Dome when "Helicopter Only" sessions are called.
  19. Helicopter limits: Micro and mini helis only. Maximum size: 450. Maximum rotor diameter: 27.6 in (700 mm). No carbon fiber nor fiberglass rotor blades.
  20. Be aware of individuals retrieving downed models, and stay clear of them. When retrieving a model, watch for craft flying near you, and be ready to take evasive action.
  21. No one is permitted on the flying field during flying operations, except for the minimum time required for model retrieval.
  22. The Dome Director will make the final decision in all cases not covered by the rules.
